Services & Programs
Martin Luther King Jr.: "Everybody can be great, because everyone can serve."
Every family that comes to Progressive Community Outreach arrives with a story already in progress. Our work is not to start that story over. It is to help write the next chapter well.
We provide community-based services for children, adolescents, and the adults who care for them — one-on-one therapeutic mentoring and life skills coaching, parent coaching and education, and youth groups that build confidence through connection. Each service is shaped around the individual in front of us and delivered where life actually happens: at home, at school, and in the neighborhood.
Because lasting change does not come from a program. It comes from a relationship.
Our Core Services
3
Youth Groups
Some skills can only be learned in the company of peers. Our youth groups give children and adolescents a structured, well-supervised space to practice social skills, build real friendships, and grow into leadership — through our after-school program, summer program, gender-specific groups, and Leaders for Excellence.
Group is where a young person discovers they are not the only one, and where confidence gets built in real time, in front of an audience their own age.
2
Parent Coaching & Parent Education
Parenting is the most consequential work most people will ever do, and almost no one is trained for it. Our parent coaches partner with parents, guardians, kinship caregivers, and foster families to strengthen the skills that hold a household together — consistent structure, age-appropriate boundaries, effective communication, positive discipline, and repair after a hard day.
Coaching is practical, judgment-free, and built around your family's actual circumstances rather than a script. We believe supporting a parent is one of the most effective preventive investments anyone can make in a child.
1
Therapeutic Mentoring & Life Skills Coaching
Structured, one-to-one support for young people, delivered wherever they live and learn. A therapeutic mentor is a consistent, positive adult presence who works alongside a youth on communication, daily living skills, emotional regulation, conflict resolution, and the practical business of growing up.
This is not tutoring, and it is not therapy. It is skilled, intentional relationship-building with measurable goals attached. Our mentors help young people recognize what they are already good at — then build on it.
